Helping Families Take Charge of Education — and Thrive
I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed, confused, and unsure where to turn. Twenty-five years ago, I started my journey as a mother determined to find the right path for my own children — both of whom have unique learning differences. What began as a personal mission to advocate for their needs grew into a lifelong passion for helping other families do the same.
From Classroom to Advocacy
My career began in 2000 as a Theater instructor, and later, as a Montessori classroom teacher, I discovered the power of individualized, hands-on learning. When my son, who has dyslexia, and my daughter, who has dyscalculia, struggled in traditional schools, I knew they needed more than what the system was offering. By 2004, I transitioned into IEP advocacy, working with parents and schools to ensure students received the support they were legally entitled to under IDEA. Over time, I became a bridge between families and schools — someone who could translate the complicated language of special education into actionable steps parents could take with confidence.
Building a Homeschool Haven
In 2013, I began homeschooling my children full-time. This experience gave me a unique perspective: I learned how to create academic environments that were joyful, flexible, and tailored to each child’s needs. Today, I use that experience to help families across the country design learning plans that work — whether they’re homeschooling full-time or balancing a hybrid model with a charter program. A Trusted Parent Liaison Over the years, I’ve supported hundreds of families — from writing IEPs and attending school meetings, to building personalized homeschool curriculums, to guiding parents through legal and compliance questions. My mission has never changed: to make sure every child receives the support they deserve, and every parent feels empowered to lead their child’s education journey. Beyond Advocacy In addition to my advocacy and consulting work, I’m the author of the Amazon #1 bestseller Take Charge of Your Child’s Education, and the creator of academic-based musicals and enrichment programs that bring core subjects to life for homeschool students.
